General conditions of sale and use

1. Reservation and payment

Reservations can be made via:

  • Our website , via the contact form, or on our online booking platform,
  • By phone or email ,
  • Via booking platforms (Booking.com, Expedia, etc.) .

We accept payment by:

  • Bank transfer ,
  • Species ,
  • Check (France only) ,
  • Bank card, via our online payment platforms.

A 30% deposit is required within 7 days of receipt of the reservation offer . After this period, the request will be cancelled.
The balance is to be paid on site at the end of your stay,

In accordance with current legislation, a fixed compensation for recovery costs is also applied. Its amount is equal to €40. It applies to each invoice that has not been paid on time 7 days after the stay has been fully invoiced.


2. Cancellation conditions

2.1 Cancellation of stay

All reservation cancellations must be made in writing (email or letter). The date of receipt of the cancellation will be used as proof for the application of the following conditions:

  • From 15 to 21 days before arrival, 30% of the reservation amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • From 8 to 14 days before arrival, 50% of the reservation amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • 7 days before arrival, you will be charged 80% of the reservation amount as a cancellation fee.
  • No show, 100% of the reservation amount will be charged as a cancellation fee.

2.2 Cancellation of table d'hôtes meals

Any cancellation or modification of a table d'hôtes meal must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled date. After this deadline, the total amount of the meal will be due .

2.3 Interruption of stay

In the event of interruption of the stay by the customer, no refund can be made .

2.4 Force majeure and postponement

In the event of duly justified force majeure (unforeseeable, irresistible and external event, such as a natural disaster, a pandemic with official travel restrictions, a family death up to the 2nd degree ), the amount already paid may be carried over to a subsequent stay within 12 months. following the cancellation date, subject to availability. No refund requests will be accepted.

A refund of the deposit OR the remaining stay may be granted in the following exceptional cases (with required proof) :

  • Death of a relative up to the 2nd degree (parents, children, grandparents, brothers and sisters).
  • Customer sick leave on the same day of arrival , with medical certificate .

3. Arrival and departure times

  • Check-in : 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • For any arrival after 7 p.m. , it is imperative to notify by phone or SMS . A self-check-in procedure will then be sent to you.
  • Check-out : 10 a.m.
  • Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. , access to the Château is limited to customers already present .

4. Stay and internal regulations

4.1 Access and facilities

  • Free parking for customers and their visitors.
  • Kitchen not accessible to customers.
  • The indoor and outdoor bar is reserved exclusively for Château customers .
  • Access to the toilets : please return to your room .
  • The rest of the estate is fully accessible to customers and their potential visitors , with the exception of the private areas .

4.2 Pets

Small dogs (-7 kg) are accepted under certain conditions:

  • Deposit of €100 on arrival.
  • Supplement of €15 per night .
  • Kept on a leash or in a carrier in common areas.
  • Access to dining rooms is prohibited .
  • Use of bedding prohibited : provide a suitable basket .
  • Cannot be left alone in the room or on the grounds during the day, except during breakfast or dinner .

ℹ️ Only one dog is allowed inside the castle grounds at a time. Only dogs are allowed; other animals are not permitted.

4.3 Smoking areas

  • The Castle and the rooms are non-smoking .
  • Smoking is permitted outdoors , but cigarette butts must be disposed of in the ashtrays provided for this purpose .
  • Any violation of any of these clauses will be penalized with a penalty of €50 .

4.4 Noise and respect for calm

  • Silence required between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Limit noise, conversations and music after 10 p.m.
  • In case of excessive noise :
    • A warning will be issued.
    • If it is not respected, a penalty of €50 per person involved will be charged .
    • In the event of a repeat offense , you will be asked to stop immediately , under penalty of police intervention or expulsion without reimbursement .

4.5 Customer Responsibility

  • Any damage caused will be charged at the repurchase price .
  • A secure storage space is available for bicycles , however you are asked torecharge the battery of your electric bike in your room to avoid any incidents.
  • The Château declines all responsibility in the event of theft, loss or damage to personal items left in rooms or vehicles.

5. Purchases of products and services

  • All purchases of products, services, souvenirs and goodies with or without the image of the Château de l'Aviette are final and non-refundable .
  • Gift cards and vouchers are non-refundable , but can be extended under certain conditions .

6. Data protection and GDPR

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) , we collect certain personal data to:

  • Manage reservations and stays (name, email, telephone, etc.).
  • Send confirmations, newsletters and promotions .

User Rights

  • Access, rectification and deletion of data upon simple written request.
  • Any contact with us automatically results in subscription to our newsletter , unless you object in writing.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All content on the site (texts, photos, logo) is protected and cannot be used without our written consent.
  • Guests are allowed to post personal photos of the Chateau on third-party sites such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Google, etc.

8. Liability and Disputes

8.1 Force majeure

Château de l'Aviette cannot be held responsible in the event of cancellation due to force majeure (natural disaster, health crisis, etc.).

8.2 Competent jurisdiction

In the event of a dispute, the competent courts are those within the jurisdiction of the Court of Charleville-Mézières and Sedan (08, Ardennes, France) .
